Architect Anthony Duncan of AD: ARCH is no stranger to the ups and downs of renovation, as evidenced by his firm’s work at Sump Coffee House, Ernesto’s Wine Bar, and the Wyoming Street mixed-use restoration project. Yet his portfolio isn’t limited to urban projects alone. “Up until three years ago, we hadn’t designed a new house in the city,” he says. “Now, we have five single-family homes under construction.” 

For this renovation, Duncan’s firm interpreted both the form and proportion of the modern single-family home to complement the older brick structures on the street. 

“We have an enthusiasm for our city and an interest in filling empty lots,” he says.
