CREATING OUTDOOR COMMUNAL SPACE
This is a seating plaza for the New City School, which is a private school in St. Louis. The design provides an outdoor space for parents and students to mix outside the school doors.
The benches were wrapped in Ipe wood for the seating and the back of the benches were brick with a stone cap to blend into the existing building. Pervious paving was utilized to minimize water runoff into the adjacent streets and parking.
